    When to vaccinate puppies

To protect dogs against certain diseases, it is vital that all puppies complete a course of vaccinations at an early age. The current guidelines from the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (2010) recommend that pups have 3 core vaccinations against distemper, adenovirus and parvovirus, all of which can be deadly to puppies and adult dogs.

Zeus

Zeus is the cutest, but most serious looking 10 week-old Siberian Husky. He was bought for me as an early Christmas present from my children. He is helping me heal from the death of my 12 year old border collie “Comet”.

I read up a lot about Huskies before he arrived and here are a couple of quotes:
They are keen gardeners and landscapers.
They are not very obedient!
If they are off leash they run and run and run and are not too keen to come back when you call them!
I think I have my work cut out for me?!

Having always had Border Collies and Labradors, it sounds like Huskies are a mixture of the 2 breeds. I have already started using Taryn’s methods at home to teach him basic commands such as “sit” “down” and “leave it”. He can’t wait to start puppy school! He responds very well and seems to be very intelligent.

He has bonded very well with my other 2 dogs and follows Rocket around everywhere. He seems to be a clone of my dog Comet (who now is a big star in heaven). He licks, digs, washes the dishes in the dishwasher and even sleeps where Comet used to sleep in the garden.

He has boundless energy and already has had long walks on the beach and in the forest. Unfortunately he has to wait for his 2nd lot of immunizations before her can meet you all at training.
See you in November!
