    When to vaccinate puppies

To protect dogs against certain diseases, it is vital that all puppies complete a course of vaccinations at an early age. The current guidelines from the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (2010) recommend that pups have 3 core vaccinations against distemper, adenovirus and parvovirus, all of which can be deadly to puppies and adult dogs.

Mika

Hi I am Mika, a 4 year old Border Collie. I have been training with Taryn since I was just a few months old. I have passed my Canine Good Citizen and have even got a big blue rosette and certificate to prove it! I love school, and get very excited on Saturday morning when it is time to go.

I love other dogs, but to be honest I prefer meeting them off the lead! I am a very happy dog, with lots of energy. I have so much energy that my mom has to throw my ball for me before class so that I can get rid of some of the energy so that I can concentrate in class.

It took me a long time to master the heel patterns, I loved leading, and being a working dog, I pulled a lot on my lead. I have now learnt to walk nicely next to my mom in class and listen to her commands (outside class I still have a problem with leading!).

I love running in the mountains with my little sister, Tala, and my absolute favourite pastime is running and swimming at the beach. It is such a favourite that my mom and dad can’t even mention “beach” in my presence. The have to use “B” in its place, in fact they have to use “W” in stead of “walk” too.
